About Us

We are a couple in our late 40′s / early 50’s who live in the southern United States. We have 8 kids between us. We were both married previously and all of our children (save one) are adults now. As we spend time together, we are often deep in conversation around a variety of topics which includes religion, sex, children, science, the environment, food, exercise, etc.

This blog started for Logan with a focus on his journey away from the Christian faith. We don’t set out to change minds. We don’t think we can. But we do believe there are many who are on a journey like we were, wrestling with doubt. It can be comforting to know you’re not alone. The struggles with doubt are common, and sometimes a person might arrive at a light-switch-flip moment of illumination because of the culmination of research and critical thinking that we go through. If our blog is of aid to you, we are truly glad.

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It is simply too painful to acknowledge — even to ourselves — that we’ve been so credulous. “

  1. Logan, I just ran across your blog and read your story starting with part 4. We have much in common, and if you’re willing, I’d like to correspond with you. My story is at http://www.mountaintrail.us, and you can write me at [redacted].

  2. Your blog is just the type of blog I’ve been looking to read. I started one of my own a few weeks ago, though I haven’t very much time to update it regularly. Thanks for sharing your journey. I plan to return and read more.
