Southwestm.com – Scam Site?

Buyer beware! I purchased a Christmas gift from this website (www.southwestm.com) at the end of October. They sent a legitimate looking order receipt by email, which was followed by another email a few days later with a shipment tracking link.

After not receiving the item a month later, I reached out to their support address and was told they would ship another one since it appears the first was lost. But this was all a ruse — they hope you will eventually forget about it all. To top it off, the tracking website was tracking-hub.com which is also illegitimate per online fraud sites. The site at tracking-hub.com has fake tracking information. You can even change the tracking number and see variations of fake information.

I am currently trying to dispute this transaction with my bank. It’s quite infuriating that they submitted this as a POS (point of sale) transaction with a different amount than the sales order email. The vendor code is also obscure. In my case, it appeared as: AOEFGSCRVBG

(Update: Dec 29). I am happy to report that my bank reversed the charge and returned my monies.

If it helps others, these two reputable sites indicate that southwestm.com is a fraudulent site that should be avoided:
